****Election Update - 22 August 2010****
The Stable Population Party stood 'independent' Senate candidates in NSW:
Senate Group T : William BOURKE / Mark O'CONNOR
Given we missed registration by a week, we used the 2010 election to test our strategies and iron out the bugs. It was an excellent opportunity that allowed us to refine our approach and significantly broaden awareness of our brand.
We will be formally registered soon after the 2010 election and will then stand candidates under our party name across Australia in by-elections and general elections.
****Election Update - 19 July 2010****
Julia Gillard called the election one week before the Stable Population Party was to be registered, in order to avoid the choice of a stable population. We had excellent Senate candidates ready to go in every state and territory.
The Australian people want a stable population, but are now only hearing about a "sustainable population". In Australia's context, 'sustainable' and 'population growth' are incompatible. This slogan is of course simply designed to camouflage and spin high population growth that will still take us to 36+ million by 2050 and 100+ million by 2100.
There are NO POLICY CHANGES from the Lib/Lab/Greens, just meaningless slogans, spin, and committees.
